Standing with FENC Fiji

Over the weekend, members of our Reddy Group and Tanoa Hotel Group teams joined the annual dinner for the Foundation for the Education of Needy Children in Fiji (FENC Fiji), a charity the Reddy Foundation has supported for many years.

Education is one of our four pillars, and FENC works where it is most fragile - with children from the poorest families in Fiji, who can lose a school year over the cost of a uniform or a set of textbooks.

Founded in 2009, FENC is non-political and voluntary. It covers school fees, textbooks, stationery, uniforms, bags and shoes, alongside coaching, mentoring and tutoring. Administrative and overhead costs are kept to a basic minimum, so help reaches children as directly as possible. That discipline is a large part of why we keep backing them because it is how our own foundation runs.

The need keeps growing. For the 2026 school year, FENC received 11,605 applications and approved 5,780 after an independent vetting process, with support limited to families earning $100 or less a week. Since 2009, it has helped more than 30,000 children into education. FENC has also said it wants to develop income-generating activities for the poorest families, so that support leads to lasting independence. Another element we are truly passionate about at The Reddy Foundation.

More than 11,000 families applied this year. Fewer than half could be supported. That gap is why nights like this matter, and why we will keep showing up for FENC.
